Behavior Tips

Gray foxes are omnivores that eat rodents and lagomorphs such as the jackrabbit. The gray fox also eats whatever fruits are readily available. This animal is crepuscular, but can also be nocturnal. Gray foxes can climb trees, which is not common in other fox species. This is due to the fact that their forelegs rotate more than those of other canids (dog family). This mammal dens in hollow trees, stumps, or appropriated burrows during the day.
