LATO Nature Centers

LATO delivers programs and services to the community through three public school bases. Each school base aka LATO Nature Center has its own associated nature trail for school hikes, field studies, wildlife cameras and stewardship projects. These trails are where Oak Ambassadors learn to guide hikes for school classes and the community. As students return to the same trail through seasons and years, they can develop deeper understanding and connections with the land and its nature. Below you’ll find details about each of our three LATO Nature Centers.

Nature in Place!

LATO uses a place-based approach to learning. meaning that learning takes place in the nearby environment and is relevant to children’s everyday lives. Kids develop relationships with the land and community where they live and go to school.
